Computer Training

Volunteers Needed

"For when I was hungry, you fed me!"

Many of Houston's homeless men need to be feed in terms of knowledge for new job skills that will keep them off the streets and become productive members of society.

The homeless are very real and now is the time for all concerned citizens to get involved in helping to make a difference in this national disgrace. Statics and demographics are not going to help these people make any progress in turning their lives around. However, by spending time with them by teaching computer skills to cope in today's workplace, you can make a difference as a volunteer.

Computer Literacy for the Homeless is a two year old non-profit organization dedicated to teaching computer skills to homeless men. These skills provide a means of potential employment by teaching DOS programs like WordPerfect and Quicken.

Currently we are working with the Salvation Army Harbor Lights Center located at 2407 North Main. Classes are Saturdays from 2:00 until 4:00 PM. Arrangements should be made in advance for observing or assisting with the class.

Length of service is totally up to the volunteer. The Steps involved in becoming a volunteer.
